My goal is to be the kind of lawyer you feel comfortable turning to—no matter the issue. I want my neighbours to bring me any legal issue, big or small. If I can help, I will. And if it’s outside what I am comfortable with, I’ll do my best to connect you with someone who can help. This practice is built on trust, community, and the belief that legal support should be easy to access and rooted in real care for the people it serves.
Meet Elissa James
Hello, I’m Elissa. I’m the founder of Elissa James Law, a new solo legal practice based in Caledonia, Ontario. With a focus on wills, document review, and notary services, I bring a thoughtful and compassionate approach to helping individuals and families plan for the future. My practice is built on the values of kindness, clarity, and dedication—ensuring every client feels heard, respected, and supported.
I have a law degree from the University of Ottawa and a Honours Bachelor degree in Political Science from McMaster University. The law is my second career—I spent over a decade as a Child and Youth Worker trying to help at-risk youth achieve their best lives. Now, I bring that compassion and desire to help others to my legal practice.
I understand that legal matters can feel overwhelming, and I strive to make the process simple, respectful, and tailored to each person’s unique needs. My goal is to provide accessible legal support with integrity and professionalism.
As a lifelong resident of Southern Ontario and a proud member of the Caledonia community, I am committed to serving my neighbours with a local, personalized touch. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors, supporting local businesses, and connecting with friends and family in the community I call home.
